On July 7th, Meggie Hines was a guest on the Internet radio show, "The 'X' Zone' with well
known Paranormal Canadian broadcaster, Rob McConnell!
This informative interview not only discussed DSGH philosophy and past
investigations but also discussed paranormal theories that are being tossed
around currently in the field. |

Adamsville Cemetery and a Shy Specter : Now on DSGH Forum
 |
Last month, we told you about an interesting encounter we at DSGH have been
having at the Adamsville cemetery with an entity that only identifies herself as
'Ima'.
Well, just to follow up, we |
have put together a multi-part series the will tell
you all the juicy details from our encounters. So far, there have been
three installments that provide a first person perspecive of the encounters as
they happened. For your convenience, we have included links to our
forum where they are posted:
We
hope you enjoy the mystery as much as we have bringing it to you. Be sure to check the
DSGH forum for future installments (part IV is underway now)!
33rd Parallel North and Florenceby Meggy Hines

When I was searching on the internet for some spooky places in Arizona, I found an article about the 33rd Parallel North.
I started reading and something popped into my head. Could this be why Florence, AZ is experiencing a high amount of paranormal activity?
I think it could very well be possible. |
I am not interested so much with the whole Free Mason conspiracy theories and their organization,
but it did spark my interest that this article and many others, claim that the Free Masons use human
sacrifice as a form of gaining Temporal Power.
Even more interesting is that the prison located in Florence, AZ houses death row, where people have
been subject to executions by hanging, lethal injection, and gas. Could there really be any proof to
this Free Mason conspiracy? Maybe, but as a paranormal investigator, I find myself more worried about
the entities that could be inhabiting this area.
Is Florence another vortex like the Superstition Mountains? Possibly Sedona? A few key things are
that the prison located in Florence is reportedly haunted and several guards have experienced some type
of paranormal phenomena. And let’s not forget Adamsville Cemetery, a place of passion for me and if you
have been following the Investigator Journals by Shawn Bechtel, you should know now that DSGH has experienced
several types of paranormal phenomena.
Another stop in the area, not necessarily Florence, but in Coolidge, AZ., the Casa Grande Ruins are
also reportedly haunted and is located along the 33rd Parallel North.
Florence, AZ has been a hotspot for our group. It first started with the Silver King Hotel, which
we captured EVP’s, personal experiences, etc. Then of course the Second Pinal County Courthouse, several
groups have investigated this place, and the fact that they have exhumed bodies from the grounds of the
courthouse every time they have made additions makes it a more likely place for paranormal phenomena.
Another place of mention is Gibby’s Bar and Cantina on Main St. in Florence, this place is also reportedly
haunted as well as several other places in and around Florence. Knowing this, it makes me believe that
the fact that Florence, AZ lies on the 33rd Parallel North could be a cause of paranormal phenomena.

Ghost Tech: Shakti Helmet Review
by Shawn Bechtel
 |
You may or may not have heard about this
contraption, but after seeing it used in paranormal investigations on one of the
more recent ghost hunting reality shows, I though it worthy of a little
research.
Shakti (meaning 'God') helmet was originally developed to create altered
states of the mind by applying small electromagnetic fields on different areas
of the brain. |
These targeted areas are believed to be involved with
spirituality and extra sensory perception (ESP), so by altering the regular
waves or fields of these sections of the brain, it is 'shifted' into an altered
state whereby one can experience visions or euphoric feelings, lucid dreams,
out-of-body experiences, and so on. The
Shakti website even goes so far as to explain how the signals (sent in the
form of tiny signals of current) are sent in certain patterns to create an
effect where different parts of the brain (the Amygdala and the Hippocampus) can
be directed into an internal communication that helps the user induce the before
mentioned states of consciousness.
It was not long before it was taken a step further, to that of a paranormal
device used to assist an investigator in spirit detection and possibly
communication. This is done though sensory deprivation. The ears are fed white
noise to drown out any noise distractions and the eyes are covered with colored
ping-pong balls in front of a soft light to create the equivalent 'snow
blindness' effect.
Knowing that there is a fair amount of bio-electric (chemical) signals that
permeate the brain, it is not completely without merit the idea that the signals
in the brain could be effected by the right electromagnetic field.
Unfortunately it is this very reason that I am very skeptical of its
effectiveness in paranormal research, at least as it applies to ghost hunting.
When you pass a current through a coil, you create a electromagnetic field.
These fields are the very thing investigators seek out when they are conducting
investigations (using EMF meters) for two purposes. One is that there is a
theory that ghosts use electromagetic energy (and possibly others) when they are
active in an area. The other is to debunk. If persons are reporting seeing
manifestations in areas where a large amount of electomagetic field fluctuations
are detected, the paranormal as a cause becomes suspect as it has been well
documented that people can be made to hallucinate, feel paranoid, nauseous etc,
when encountering high EMF.
Now keeping this in mind, if one were to intentionally subject their brain to
EMF (in close proximity to the brain), it would be hard to distinguish an actual
paranormal encounter to that of a self induced hallucination. For this reason,
I would be hesitant to use anything experienced by it as evidence.
