Adamsville Training Session 01/31/09

Date of Investigation:01/31/09
Duration: 6:00 - 9:00 PM MST
Moon: First Quarter
Day of: Saturn
Hours of: Mercury, Moon, Saturn
Equipment Used: Digital Camera, Digital Voice Recorder, K-II Meter, Compass

Summary

Upon arrival to the site, it was observed that the location runs adjacent power lines on the Eastern side of the site.  For this reason, the perimeter of the grounds was walked using a standard compass to determine true North and to see if the area that parallels the power lines was showing signs of stronger than normal electromagnetic fields.  There were no apparent variances exhibited.
Noteworthy sources of interference:  the close proximity of the site to a moderately traveled road (East Adamsville Road) and an abundance of birds.
A walk through was done to familiarize the group with the location and provide a brief history.  This lasted approximately 45 minutes.  No activity was observed.

Investigation:
6:45pm
Group split up with Phil and Don walking the East side of the cemetery enclosure, and Meggie and Shawn walking the West carrying a K2 mG meter, Digital Voice Recorder (DVR), and digital camera.  Shortly after starting to walk the eastern side, Meggie observed a measurement of 1.5 – 2.5mG reading on the K2 meter.  At first this was not given much consideration given its proximity (within 100 yards) of the power lines, but upon further review, it was noted that the field was strongest from 1 – 3 feet above the ground (one the ground did not register so underground lines were ruled out), with the measurement decreasing above or below that range.  From a stationary position, it was observed that the meter measurement would fluctuate from 0-2.5mG with no discernable pattern.  After a few minutes of observing this it was determined to start an EVP session.

EVP Session 1: start 7:00pm duration 15mins 58sec
Time index
00:00:47 – (requires amplification to hear clearly, but can be heard without) possible class B of female voice “I’m a … (cannot make out last part)”
Notes:  During the session, the K-II meter momentarily reached the 2.5-10 mG range (less than one second spikes).  However, it was not evident that the changes in the meter were in response to any questions asked (at least not repeatable).  Also noteworthy was when the K-II measured changes were first detected; a compass was used to see if the changes could be collaborated.  The compass poles had reversed with North now pointing South.  This phenomenon did not last more than a minute, and thereafter returned to true North.  All K-II activity returned to normal (baseline) within 20 minutes from first occurrence.
The group then reconvened at the Southwest entrance to discuss each other’s findings.  Don reported an extreme sensation that something had moved through him (described as an eerie cold sensation).   The group returned to the area where Don first had this experience and it was decided a second EVP session should be conducted, during which Don would be observed with a digital video record and an IR thermal measurement device.
EVP Session 2: start 8:20PM duration 5mins 19sec
Time Index
00:04:15 – (required amplification to hear) several unintelligible but distinct (meaning that is was definitely not from any of the investigating group) whispers could be heard for approximately 30 seconds.  Unfortunately, there is much interference from background noises (road, group talk) to determine if the result is a real phenomenon or psychoacoustic phantoms.
During the session, Don indicated he was experiencing the same eerie effects that he had before.  At these times the IR Thermal measurements did not show any significant differences between Don and the other members.  Phil did observe on at least two occasions that the autofocus feature of the video recorder would suddenly lose focus and then for several seconds try to regain it.
After the EVP session it was decided another session would be conducted using the Ghost box (A.K.A Frank’s box).  This was the longest of the three sessions recorded on my DVR.
EVP Session 3: start 9:02PM duration 20mins 06secs
AM/FM frequencies were used for the questioning session with no discernable results.
After the session was concluded, the investigation was brought to a close.

Evidence Review:
Digital photos: No evidence of paranormal photographed.  44 photos reviewed
Audio:  3 audio recordings reviewed.  Results as reported.
Closing notes:
Overall, no activity was observed by the group.  While Don reported a personal experience, no evidence was available to collaborate it from a thermal or audio perspective (video analysis was not conducted by me).  EVP sessions did appear to reveal some activity (however minimal) so further investigation is warranted.  The K-II and compass anomalies could be explained by power line power surges which could momentarily extend the EM field strength, however the behavior of the readings do not fully support this idea.  A conclusion cannot be made at this time regarding the level of paranormal activity at this location and it is advised that the case remain open until more evidence can be collected.
